Growing Pereskia aculeata under intermittent irrigation according to levels of matric potential reduction

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical, 2015
Pereskia aculeata Mill., popularly known in Brazil as “Ora-pro-nobis”, is an unconventional edible vegetable. Taking into account its potential for agronomic cultivation, this study aimed to evaluate the growth response of this plant under intermittent ...

The Role of Matric Potential, Solid Interfacial Chemistry, and Wettability on Isotopic Equilibrium Fractionation

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, 2019
Soil water stable isotopes are widely used for geo- and ecohydrological applications. However, the signature of the soil water isotopic composition in the environment depends on various factors.

Study the Changes of Some Water Relations and Net Photosynthesis of Three Iranian Melon Population (Cucumis melo) under Water Deficit Stress [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i ̒Ulum-i Bāghbānī, 2023
Introduction Drought stress is one of the most common environmental stresses that limits agricultural production through disruption of physiological processes and reduces plant performance.

On matrices potentially useful for tree codes [PDF]

open access: yesInformation Processing Letters, 2022
Motivated by a concept studied in [1], we consider a property of matrices over finite fields that generalizes triangular totally nonsingular matrices to block matrices. We show that (1) matrices with this property suffice to construct good tree codes and (2) a random block-triangular matrix over a field of quadratic size satisfies this property.

Determination of the Permanent Wilting Point of Physalis peruviana L.

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2023
The soil–water potential limit, or permanent wilting point (PWP), of Physalis peruviana L. is not known. Thus, determining the PWP of P. peruviana in different soils is essential to plan crops and manage irrigation in order to optimize the use of water ...

Hydro-mechanical modeling of a vegetated slope subjected to rainfall [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2023
Shallow landslides triggered by heavy rainfalls have caused casualties and economic losses to domestic infrastructures and industries worldwide. Rainfall mainly reduces the soil matric suction and the shear resistance, resulting in shallow landslides ...

Soil salinity and matric potential interaction on water use, water use efficiency and yield response factor of bean and wheat. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep, 2018
We studied the effects of soil matric potential and salinity on the water use (WU), water use efficiency (WUE) and yield response factor (Ky), for wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. Mahdavi) and bean (Phaseoulus vulgaris cv.

Soil Bulk Density and Matric Potential Regulate Soil CO2 Emissions by Altering Pore Characteristics and Water Content

open access: yesLand, 2023
Soil pore structure and soil water content are critical regulators of microbial activity and associated carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. This study evaluated the impacts of soil bulk density and matric potential on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions through ...
