Difficulties in the Production of Ausferritic Nodular Cast Iron without Heat Treatment [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2023
The paper presents results of tests carried out on ausferrite carbide matrix alloyed ductile cast iron. The ausferrite was obtained via addition of Cu and Mo alloying elements. This eliminated heat treatment from the alloy production cycle.

Approximate Exponential Algorithms to Solve the Chemical Master Equation [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Modelling And Analysis Vol. 20 , Iss. 3,2015, 2014
This paper discusses new simulation algorithms for stochastic chemical kinetics that exploit the linearity of the chemical master equation and its matrix exponential exact solution. These algorithms make use of various approximations of the matrix exponential to evolve probability densities in time.

Analysis of glass fiber reinforced cement (GRC) fracture surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Glass fiber reinforced cement (GRC) is a composite material produced by the union of a cement mortar matrix and chopped glass fibers. Its good mechanical properties deteriorate with time. This phenomenon has been studied performing a tensile test program

Data-driven discovery of multiscale chemical reactions governed by the law of mass action [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
In this paper, we propose a data-driven method to discover multiscale chemical reactions governed by the law of mass action. First, we use a single matrix to represent the stoichiometric coefficients for both the reactants and products in a system without catalysis reactions. The negative entries in the matrix denote the stoichiometric coefficients for
