Crystallization and Structure of AlSi10Mg0.5Mn0.5 Alloy with Dispersion Strengthening with Al–FexAly–SiC Phases

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The paper characterizes a composite with dispersion phases cast via the use of stir casting method on an aluminum matrix. A mixture of aluminum with FexAly and SiC powders was achieved in the process of mechanical alloying and self-propagating high ...

Antireflection Surfaces for Biological Analysis Using Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesResearch, 2018
Laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS) is a primary tool for biological analysis. Its success relies on the use of chemical matrices that facilitate soft desorption and ionization of the biomolecules, which, however, also limits its ...

SOURCE IDENTIFICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTANTS USING CHEMICAL ANALYSIS AND POSITIVE MATRIX FACTORIZATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Multivariate modeling techniques are successfully used in different areas of environmental research because of their ability to process large data sets. The main objective of their application lies in the determination of data structures and hidden information which account for the data set variability. This thesis work seeks to explore the application

Spatiotemporal Organization of Biofilm Matrix Revealed by Confocal Raman Mapping Integrated with Non-Negative Matrix Factorization Analysis.

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2019
Biofilms are microbial aggregates of microorganisms surrounded by a hydrogel-like matrix formed by extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). The formation of biofilms is intrinsically complex, from the attachment of microbial cells to the dispersion of ...

Detecting Anomaly in Chemical Sensors via L1-Kernels based Principal Component Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We propose a kernel-PCA based method to detect anomaly in chemical sensors. We use temporal signals produced by chemical sensors to form vectors to perform the Principal Component Analysis (PCA). We estimate the kernel-covariance matrix of the sensor data and compute the eigenvector corresponding to the largest eigenvalue of the covariance matrix.

Mass Spectrometry-Based Chemical and Enzymatic Methods for Global Analysis of Protein Glycosylation.

open access: yesAccounts of Chemical Research, 2018
Glycosylation is one of the most common protein modifications, and it is essential for mammalian cell survival. It often determines protein folding and trafficking, and regulates nearly every extracellular activity, including cell-cell communication and ...
