Direct Matrix Converter Topologies with Model Predictive Current Control Applied as Power Interfaces in AC, DC, and Hybrid Microgrids in Islanded and Grid-Connected Modes

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This paper presents an analysis of a new application of different direct matrix converter topologies used as power interfaces in AC, DC, and hybrid microgrids, with model predictive current control.

Modular integration of a matrix converter [PDF]

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2014
The future development of high‐performance power electronics will rely increasingly on system‐level integration, where semiconductor devices are co‐packaged with other active and passive components (e.g., gate drivers, filter capacitors, and inductors) into a power module.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

A modular matrix converter for transformer-less PMSG wind generation systems

open access: yes, 2011
An offshore wind turbine usually has the grid step-up transformer integrated in the nacelle. This increases mechanical loading of the tower. In that context, a transformer-less, high voltage, highly-reliable and compact converter system for nacelle ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

A matrix converter based Inductive Power Transfer system

open access: yes, 2012
Typical Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) systems employ two power conversion stages to generate a high frequency current from low frequency utility supply.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Dynamic inverse controller with Matrix Converter Drive Feed Three Phase Induction Motor

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Dynamic inversion (DI) is a controller technique by which existing undesirable dynamics are cancelled out and changed by desirable dynamics. The application of induction motor drives with sinusoidal input currents a matrix converter combined with DI is ...

VVVF on-line control of matrix converters

open access: yesElectrical Engineering in Japan, 1996
A matrix converter doesn't have any energy storage components, so it is smaller than a converter-inverter system with same KVA. Though matrix converter requires 18 switching devices instead of 12, each device capacity is 0.383 times and total capacity is 0.575 times that of the converter-inverter system.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.
