Design of adaptive speed controllers for matrix‐converter‐based interior permanent magnet synchronous motor drive systems

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
Interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) which are driven by matrix converters have many advantages, including one‐stage power conversion, high efficiency, bidirectional power transfer, near unity input power factor, and low input current ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Design and Implementation of Input AC Filters and Predictive Control for Matrix-Converter Based PMSM Drive Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Matrix converters have many advantages, including high-efficiency, single-stage AC/AC energy conversion, bidirectional power flow, a near-unity input power factor, sinusoidal three-phase input currents, and sinusoidal three-phase output currents. However,

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Generating Arbitrary Order Cylindrical Vector Beams With Inherent Transform Mechanism

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
Polarization converters that convert incident linearly polarized beams into arbitrary order cylindrical vector beams (CVBs) are derived with the Jones matrix theory.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Robust Control Using a Matrix Converter to Enhance Wind Turbine Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
A viable approach to meet rising power demands and mitigate global warming is the installation of wind turbine systems (WTSs). However, variable wind speeds can significantly impact the energy output of these highly interconnected and nonlinear systems ...
