Problem of the gyroscopic stabilizer damping [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics, 2009
The gyroscopic stabilization of the vibro-isolation system of an ambulance couch is analyzed. This paper follows several previous papers, which concern the derivation of the complete system of appropriate differential equations and some analyses were ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Fault detection and isolation of actuator failures for a large transport aircraft

open access: yes, 2007
- We consider the problem of designing residual generators with least dynamical orders to solve actuator fault detection and isolation problems for a Boeing 747-100/200 aircraft. The main result of our analysis is the proof of feasibility of the complete

The Interplay and Synergism of Experiment and Quantum Chemistry in Research on Reactive Intermediates

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2005
Three examples from the work of the author's research group on reactive intermediates are used to illustrate how fruitful interaction between experimental and computational chemistry may lead to the solution of problems that neither of the two ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Dynamic Modeling and Experimental Validation of Shock Isolation Performance for Shipborne Stewart-Platform-Based Bumper

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The Stewart-platform-based bumper plays a critical role in shipborne strap-down inertial navigation systems (SINSs), effectively mitigating shock-induced disturbances to ensure measurement accuracy.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Trehalose-enhanced isolation of neuronal sub-types from adult mouse brain

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2012
Efficient isolation of specific, intact, living neurons from the adult brain is problematic due to the complex nature of the extracellular matrix consolidating the neuronal network.
