Arsenic Enhances Matrix Metalloproteinase-14 Expression in Fibroblasts

Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Part A, 2008
This study focused on the effects of arsenic (As) on fibroblast-derived matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and -14 levels, as these proteins were reported to be associated with tumor progression. Arsenic was found to promote production of the fibroblast-derived active form of MMP-2.

Primary renal neuroblastoma with metastasis and matrix metalloproteinase‐14 expression

Pediatrics International, 2015
AbstractWe herein report the rare case of a 4‐year–5‐month‐old boy who presented with primary renal neuroblastoma. The patient developed repeated lung and liver metastatic recurrences, but, following a combination of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and aggressive surgical resection, the patient is now in remission.

Inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase-14 in osteosarcoma cells by clodronate

Journal of Surgical Research, 2003
Bisphosphonates reduce the bone metastasis formation and angiogenesis but the exact molecular mechanisms involved are unclear. Progelatinase A (proMMP-2; 78 KDa) is activated up during the tumor spread and metastasis by a cell surface-associated matrix metalloproteinase (membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase [MT1-MMP] or MMP-14).We evaluated the ...

Matrix Metalloproteinase-14 (MT1-MMP)–Mediated Endoglin Shedding Inhibits Tumor Angiogenesis

Cancer Research, 2010
Abstract Endoglin is a transforming growth factor-β coreceptor with a crucial role in angiogenesis. A soluble form of endoglin is present in the circulation, but the role of soluble endoglin (sEndoglin) is poorly understood. In addition, the endoglin shedding mechanism is not known.

Matrix Metalloproteinase-14 Expression and Its Prognostic Value in Cervical Carcinoma

Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2014
The objective of the study was to evaluate the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP-14) in cervical carcinoma and correlate its expression with clinicopathological parameters, recurrence, and survival of the patients. The expressions of MMP-14 in normal cervical mucosa and cervical carcinoma tissue were detected with immunohistochemistry ...

Matrix metalloproteinase-14 induces epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in synovial sarcoma

Human Pathology, 2018
Synovial sarcoma (SS) is a highly aggressive malignant soft tissue sarcoma with typical characteristics of both epithelial and mesenchymal differentiation. Matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP-14) is reported to play an important role in some of these tumors.
