Investigating transthyretin variants H88R and I107V in amyloid priming: From destabilization to complete dissociation

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 15, Page 4680-4703, August 2026.
Investigated mutations in transthyretin (TTR) disrupt the F87‐centered hydrophobic core that stabilizes its tetrameric structure. The mild I107V mutation weakens inter‐chain packing, while H88R fully abolishes tetramer formation, yielding a monomeric, aggregation‐prone form. Structural, biophysical, and computational analyses reveal that both mutations

Overcoming Computational Bottlenecks in Quantum Hydrodynamics: A Volume‐Based Integral Formalism for Spherical Nanoparticles

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
Numerical modeling of mesoscopic material response models that capture the quantum dynamics of electrons does not have to come with discouraging computational bottlenecks. The main message is that through a shift in perspective in modeling toward integral equation methods and exploiting symmetry‐based arguments, it is possible to capture complicated ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 38, 9 July 2026.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

Uncertainty Quantification of Analytical Solutions for the Nonlinear Space and Time Fractional Order ϕ4$$ {\phi}^4 $$ Equation Under Fuzziness

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
Analytical fuzzy soliton solutions of a modified space–time fractional ϕ4$$ {\phi}^4 $$ model are derived using EHFM, capturing memory effects and uncertainty. Results reveal diverse wave structures and show how fractional order and fuzziness significantly influence soliton amplitude, localization, and propagation, with heightened sensitivity near the ...

Strain-induced modulations in nonlinear optical rectification of core/shell quantum dots within an MEH-PPV polymer matrix under electric field: a 3D finite-element modeling study

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
This research aims to explore how the MEH-PPV polymer matrix and the strength of the applied field (EF) affect an electron confined within strained CdSe/ZnSe spherical core/shell quantum dots (CSQDs). By solving the Schrödinger equation using the element

Electro-Optical Modulation of the Nonlinear Optical Response in a GaAs/AlGaAs Symmetric Multiple Quantum Well System

open access: yesPhysics
External fields modify the confinement potential and electronic structure in a multiple quantum well system, affecting the light–matter interaction. Here, we present a theoretical study of the modulation of the nonlinear optical response simultaneously ...

Universal quantum Hawking evaporation of integrable two-dimensional solitons

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
We show that any soliton solution of an arbitrary two-dimensional integrable equation has the potential to eventually evaporate and emit the exact analogue of Hawking radiation from black holes.

Mixed single, double, and triple poles solutions for the space-time shifted nonlocal DNLS equation with nonzero boundary conditions via Riemann–Hilbert approach

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
In this paper, we investigate the space-time shifted nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equation under nonzero boundary conditions using the Riemann–Hilbert (RH) approach for the first time.

The Conservative and Efficient Numerical Method of 2-D and 3-D Fractional Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation Using Fast Cosine Transform

open access: yesMathematics
This paper introduces a novel approach employing the fast cosine transform to tackle the 2-D and 3-D fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation (fNLSE). The fractional Laplace operator under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions is first defined through

Integrable Riesz Fractional-Order Generalized NLS Equation with Variable Coefficients: Inverse Scattering Transform and Analytical Solutions

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Significant new progress has been made in nonlinear integrable systems with Riesz fractional-order derivative, and it is impressive that such nonlocal fractional-order integrable systems exhibit inverse scattering integrability. The focus of this article
