State-Feedback Control in Descriptor Discrete-Time Fractional-Order Linear Systems: A Superstability-Based Approach

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
In this article, the superstabilizing state-feedback control problem in descriptor discrete-time fractional-order linear (DDFL) systems with a regular matrix pencil is studied.

A deflation method for regular matrix pencils

open access: yesApplied Mathematics and Computation, 2011
A matrix pencil \(\lambda Y-X\) of order \(m\) is called an eigenpencil of a matrix pencil \(\lambda B-A\) or order \(n>m\) if there exist \(n\times m\) matrices \(V\) and \(W\) of rank \(m\) such that \((\lambda B-A)V=W(\lambda Y-X)\). The authors show that, if an eigenpencil is known, it may be used to extend the Wielandt deflation for regular matrix

Projection Method for Eigenvalue Problems of Linear Nonsquare Matrix Pencils [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 2021
Eigensolvers involving complex moments can determine all the eigenvalues in a given region in the complex plane and the corresponding eigenvectors of a regular linear matrix pencil. The complex moment acts as a filter for extracting eigencomponents of interest from random vectors or matrices.

Data De-weighting in Matrix Pencil Method

open access: yesThe Journal of Korea Information and Communications Society, 2011
Matrix Pencil method is one of the promising method to estimate DOA in non-stationary, multi-path coherent environment. Not only the Matrix Pencil Method offers better resolution than the conventional approach using covariance matrix, but also it is computationally very efficient.

Coding Prony’s method in MATLAB and applying it to biomedical signal filtering

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2018
Background The response of many biomedical systems can be modelled using a linear combination of damped exponential functions. The approximation parameters, based on equally spaced samples, can be obtained using Prony’s method and its variants (e.g.

Improving the Accuracy of the Pencil of Function Method Increasing Its Matrix Polynomial Degree

open access: yesMathematics
The estimation of complex natural frequencies in linear systems through their transient response analysis is a common practice in engineering and applied physics. In this context, the conventional Generalized Pencil of Function (GPOF) method that employs

USING THE MATRIX PENCIL METHOD FOR RADAR MEASUREMENT OF AN ELEVATION ANGLE OF LOW-ALTITUDE TARGETS OVER AGITATED SEA [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2018
The paper focuses on the problem of increasing the accuracy of radar measurements of the elevation angle of the low-altitude targets over the sea. The Matrix Pencil method, as one of the means to resolve this problem, is studied in the paper. This method
