Determinantal representations and the Hermite matrix
We consider the problem of writing real polynomials as determinants of symmetric linear matrix polynomials. This problem of algebraic geometry, whose roots go back to the nineteenth century, has recently received new attention from the viewpoint of convex optimization. We relate the question to sums of squares decompositions of a certain Hermite matrix.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Matrix Representations of Inverse Semigroups [PDF]
In his paper [1], W. D. Munn determines the irreducible matrix representations of an arbitrary inverse semigroup. Munn also gives a necessary and sufficient condition upon a 0-simple inverse semigroup for it to have a non-trivial matirx representation and for such semigroups gives a complete account of their representations.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

ON THE REAL MATRIX REPRESENTATION OF PT-SYMMETRIC OPERATORS
We discuss the construction of real matrix representations of PT-symmetric operators. We show the limitation of a general recipe presented some time ago for non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with antiunitary symmetry and propose a way to overcome it.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

On the construction of matrix representations and their extensions [PDF]
In [5] we exhibited the construction of faithful irreducible matrix representations of p-groups E and constructed their extensions to a semidirect product E. H, in case E and H satisfied suitable conditions. One of the major conditions was that the prime p had to be odd.In this paper we assume the same conditions as in [5], but now with p = 2, in order
