Variational Bayesian Matrix Factorization for Bounded Support Data

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2015
A novel Bayesian matrix factorization method for bounded support data is presented. Each entry in the observation matrix is assumed to be beta distributed. As the beta distribution has two parameters, two parameter matrices can be obtained, which matrices contain only nonnegative values.

Efficient k-Support Matrix Pursuit

2014
In this paper, we study the k-support norm regularized matrix pursuit problem, which is regarded as the core formulation for several popular computer vision tasks. The k-support matrix norm, a convex relaxation of the matrix sparsity combined with the l2-norm penalty, generalizes the recently proposed k-support vector norm.

Supported Molecular Matrix Electrophoresis

Distinct bands of mucins cannot be banded using a gel electrophoresis based on a molecular sieving effect due to their very large molecular weight and remarkable diversity in glycosylation. In contrast, membrane electrophoresis can separate mucins as round bands.

Preparation and Properties of Matrix-Supported Horseradish Peroxidase

Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1975
A new method of enzyme immobilization has been described using poly(4-methacryloxybenzoic acid) as the carrier. Activation of the polymer, prior to enzyme attachment, was achieved with N-ethoxycarbonyl-2-ethoxy-1,2-dihydroquinoline. The enzyme coupling step proceeded through nucleophilic attack by the protein on a mixed carbonic anhydride.

Kernel support matrix machines with ramp loss

Analysis and Applications
To overcome the shortcomings of classical support vector machines in classifying matrix-type data and outliers, we aim at studying kernel support matrix machines with ramp loss. For this purpose, a class of proximal stationary points is introduced. First, the relationship between the proximal stationary point, the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker point, and the ...

Serum protein fractionation using supported molecular matrix electrophoresis

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2013
Supported molecular matrix electrophoresis (SMME), in which a hydrophilic polymer such as PVA serves as a support within a porous PVDF membrane, was recently developed. This method is similar to cellulose acetate membrane electrophoresis but differs in the compatibility to glycan analysis of the separated bands.

Microfibre matrix-supported ion-selective PVC membranes

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 1994
Abstract In this paper we present a new ion-selective membrane that allows the production of very low-cost ion-selective electrodes (ISEs). The key innovation is the use of a double-matrix membrane. The ion-selective polymeric membrane is formed in the volume of an electrochemically inert microfibre matrix (MFM). The MFM can be filter paper, membrane

Wavelet Kernels for Support Matrix Machines

2019
Classification of matrix variate data is a major challenge in statistics and many statistical studies like gray digital images and electroencephalography (EEG), for example. Popular methods such as support vector machines have limitations when second-order tensor or matrix is considered as input data.
