Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Idiosyncratic behaviour of (Na0.495K0.455Li0.05)(Nb0.95Ta0.05)O3–La2O3 ceramics: Synergistically improved thermal stability, ageing, and fatigue properties

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics, 2019
La2O3 doped (Na0.495K0.455Li0.05)(Nb0.95Ta0.05)O3 ceramics are prepared using modified milling process, and the influences of La2O3 on ferroelectric behaviour, ageing characteristics, thermal stability, electrical stability, crystal structure ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Investigation of Fracture Process of Q245R During Single Edge Notched Tension Test with Acoustic Emission

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Acoustic emission (AE) technology, a kind of non-destructive testing method, was used in this study to monitor the fracture process of Q245R steel in the single edge notched tension (SENT) test.

ROUGHNESS OF PROCESSED SURFACES UNDER ABRASIVE POLISHING [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2017
The obtained analytical dependences for determining the basic parameters of the surface roughness during abrasive polishing are presented with modeling the cutting grains in the form of a sphere and considering the ordered arrangement of grains.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...
