Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Finite groups which have maximal covers

open access: yes, 2021
Let $ (G)$ be the maximum number of subgroups in an irredundant covering of a finite group $G$. We prove that the finite groups with $ (G)=|G|-t$, where $t\leq 5$, are solvable, and classify such groups.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Clique coverings of graphs V: maximal-clique partitions [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 1982
A maximal-clique partition of a graph G is a way of covering G with maximal complete subgraphs, such that every edge belongs to exactly one of the subgraphs. If G has a maximal-clique partition, the maximal-clique partition number of G is the smallest cardinality of such partitions. In this paper the existence of maximal-clique partitions is discussed –

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Interest-Driven Outdoor Advertising Display Location Selection Using Mobile Phone Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The modern outdoor advertising industry is introducing new technologies to attract attention and enhance effective reach. However, displaying the pertinent advertisements (ads) and maximizing their coverage are still a challenge, as little is known about

Development of the Capacitated Maximal Covering Location Problem (CMCLP) Model in Determining the Location and Type of Distribution Center

open access: yesOPSI, 2022
Facility location decision making is necessary for both the public and private sectors for optimum utilization of resources. While the private sector may locate facilities to maximize profit or minimize cost, the public sector aims at providing services ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
