Efects of the physical training, based in ergospyrometric evaluation, in the aerobic capacity of volley players – physical training in volley players

open access: yesRevista da Educação Física, 2008
The prescription of the exercise training intensity based on ventilatory thresholds, determined by ergoespirometric evaluations, has been very useful for athletes.

Effects of verbal encouragement on performance of the multistage 20 m shuttle run

open access: yesActa Scientiarum. Health Sciences, 2015
Exertion tests for predicting maximal oxygen uptake (VO2) intend to estimate the person maximum performance. Some articles mention the verbal encouragement in their protocol to reach it, while others do not.

Multi-Stage 20-m Shuttle Run Fitness Test, Maximal Oxygen Uptake and Velocity at Maximal Oxygen Uptake [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Human Kinetics, 2014
Abstract The multi-stage 20-m shuttle run fitness test (20mMSFT) is a popular field test which is widely used to measure aerobic fitness by predicting maximum oxygen uptake (VO2 max) and performance. However, the velocity at which VO 2 max occurs (vVO 2 max) is a better indicator of performance than VO 2 max, and can be used to explain ...

Effect of iron supplementation on maximal oxygen uptake in female athletes [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2011
Background/Aim. Iron is a vital constituent of hemoglobin, myoglobin, and some mitochondrial enzymes; therefore, body iron deficiency may result in reduced aerobic capacity.

Correlation of maximal respiratory exchange ratio with anaerobic power and maximal oxygen uptake in anaerobic trained athletes

open access: yesPedagogy of Physical Culture and Sports, 2021
Background and Study Aim. The respiratory exchange ratio (RER) is the ratio of the amount of carbon dioxide produced (VCO2) to the amount of oxygen uptake (VO2) is important.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
