Implications of Maximum Acceleration on Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions A: Science, 2018
Considering the corrected Unruh temperature as well as the entropic force perspective of gravity, we are able to derive the modification of the Newton's law of gravity. In addition, we also investigate the effects of the highest achievable acceleration correction to the Unruh temperature on the Poisson equation.

Maximum synchrotron frequency for shock-accelerated particles [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters, 2012
Abstract It is widely believed that the maximum energy of synchrotron photons when electrons are accelerated in shocks via the Fermi process is about 50 MeV (in plasma comoving frame). We show that under certain conditions, which are expected to be realized in relativistic shocks of gamma-ray bursts, synchrotron photons of energy much ...

Optimal Seismic Design of Stiffness and Gap of Hysteretic-Viscous Hybrid Damper System in Nonlinear Building Frames for Simultaneous Reduction of Interstory Drift and Acceleration

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2021
The viscous-hysteretic hybrid (HVH) damper system recently introduced by one of the authors has a clear property that, when the hysteretic dampers with gap mechanism become active (stiffness element starts working), the acceleration of building frames ...

Effect of Aging on the Lower Limb Kinematics in Karate Practitioners: Comparing Athletes and Their Senseis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
With the life expectancy increasing, older adult population has gained the attention of many researchers. Aging is known to lead to a general decline in bodily functions, which affect the quality of life.

INTEGRATED APPROACH TO ASSESSING THE SEISMIC HAZARD OF URBAN AREAS IN SOUTHERN PRIANGARIE (CASE OF THE LEFT BANK OF THE ANGARA RIVER IN IRKUTSK)

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2018
Seismic hazard assessment with the use of an integrated approach is discussed on the case of the left bank of the Angara river in Irkutsk, Russia. Potential earthquake focal zones have been identified in the study area.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE TECHNIQUE FOR SEISMICITY MICROZONATION MAPPING OF THE ULAN‐UDE CITY TERRITORY

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
For purposes of seismicity microzonation of the Ulan‐Ude city territory, engineering geophysical studies are conducted to reveal which types of rocks and soils are dominant in the study area and to classify them by site‐specific velocities of P‐ and S ...

Convex accelerated maximum entropy reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance, 2016
Maximum entropy (MaxEnt) spectral reconstruction methods provide a powerful framework for spectral estimation of nonuniformly sampled datasets. Many methods exist within this framework, usually defined based on the magnitude of a Lagrange multiplier in the MaxEnt objective function.
