Jamming transition in a highly dense granular system under vertical vibration

open access: yes, 2005
The dynamics of the jamming transition in a three-dimensional granular system under vertical vibration is studied using diffusing-wave spectroscopy. When the maximum acceleration of the external vibration is large, the granular system behaves like a ...

Study on optimum calculation model optimization for obstacle limited weight of domestic civil transport aircraft

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan, 2023
The performance software of a domestic civil aircraft used by an airline for many years can obtain satisfactory results in the accuracy of obstacle limited weight calculation, but the calculation time is long.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Combined STEREO/RHESSI study of CME acceleration and particle acceleration in solar flares

open access: yes, 2010
Using the potential of two unprecedented missions, STEREO and RHESSI, we study three well observed fast CMEs that occurred close to the limb together with their associated high energy flare emissions in terms of RHESSI HXR spectra and flux evolution ...

Maximum automobile acceleration

open access: yesAutomobile transport, 2021
Problem. The disadvantage of current dependences for determining the acceleration indicators at engine maximum brake power and driving tire-to-surface friction coefficients is that they are adequate only if the engine and transmission parameters provide power input to the drive wheels rolling without slipping regardless to speed.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Finite Virtual Particles, maximum acceleration and maximum gravity

open access: yes, 2019
This is a microarticle exploring the connection between Planck scale and the finite number of virtual particles. We start from some premises and draw the conclusion that there are a finite number of virtual particles.

Multivariate scaling of maximum proton energy in intense laser driven ion acceleration

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
The production of high-energy ions is a momentous goal of ultraintense laser lights. So far a number of experiments and numerical simulations have been conducted to obtain the scaling of the ion energy to find the optimal experimental condition.

A novel spherical actuator: Design and control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The paper describes the design and control of a novel spherical permanent magnet actuator which is capable of two-degrees-freedom and a high specific torque. Based on an analytical actuator model, an optimal design procedure is developed to yield maximum

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
