Safe design of cooled tubular reactors for exothermic, multiple reactions; parallel reactions—II: The design and operation of an ethylene oxide reactor [PDF]
In part I a model and criteria have been developed for the safe design and operation of cooled tubular reactors for multiple reactions of the parallel type. In this Part II the model is extended to parallel reactions with an arbitrary stoichiometry.

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

An approach to determining regional standards for the concentration of natural or anthropogenic substances in the coastal waters of southwestern Sakhalin, taking into account the natural hydrochemical background [PDF]
Preserving stable functioning of coastal marine ecosystems under transforming anthropogenic impact requires an objective assessment of their ecological state.

Generalized Entropy Concentration for Counts [PDF]
The phenomenon of entropy concentration provides strong support for the maximum entropy method, MaxEnt, for inferring a probability vector from information in the form of constraints. Here we extend this phenomenon, in a discrete setting, to non-negative integral vectors not necessarily summing to 1.

Maximum likelihood thresholds of generic linear concentration models [PDF]
The maximum likelihood threshold of a statistical model is the minimum number of datapoints required to fit the model via maximum likelihood estimation. In this paper we determine the maximum likelihood thresholds of generic linear concentration models.

Transient receptor potential melastatin‐4 (TRPM4) is overexpressed in prostate cancer (PCa). Knockout of TRPM4 resulted in reduced PCa tumor spheroid size and decreased PCa tumor spheroid outgrowth. In addition, lack of TRPM4 increased cell death in PCa tumor spheroids.

Analysis of phthalate esters contamination in drinking water samples [PDF]
Phthalate esters are widely used as plasticizer. They can migrate from plastic materials to the environment. Exposure to some of these compounds may increase the risk of getting cancer. Phthalate esters: dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP),
