MDS array codes for correcting a signle criss-cross error [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present a family of maximum-distance separable (MDS) array codes of size (p-1)×(p-1), p a prime number, and minimum criss-cross distance 3, i.e., the code is capable of correcting any row or column in error, without a priori knowledge of what type of ...

A New Class of MDS Erasure Codes Based on Graphs

open access: yes, 2011
Maximum distance separable (MDS) array codes are XOR-based optimal erasure codes that are particularly suitable for use in disk arrays. This paper develops an innovative method to build MDS array codes from an elegant class of nested graphs, termed ...

On the Existence of Optimal Exact-Repair MDS Codes for Distributed Storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The high repair cost of (n,k) Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) erasure codes has recently motivated a new class of codes, called Regenerating Codes, that optimally trade off storage cost for repair bandwidth.

Allosteric Modulation of Pathological Ataxin‐3 Aggregation: A Path to Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type‐3 Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a new allosteric site in the Josephin domain of ataxin‐3 targeted by the molecular tweezer CLR01, which modulates protein aggregation, improves synaptic function in neuronal cells, and delays motor dysfunction in animal models.

X-code: MDS array codes with optimal encoding [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We present a new class of MDS (maximum distance separable) array codes of size n×n (n a prime number) called X-code. The X-codes are of minimum column distance 3, namely, they can correct either one column error or two column erasures. The key novelty in

Midbrain PAG Astrocytes Modulate Mouse Defensive and Panic‐Like Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocytes in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) dynamically encode threat intensity and shape defensive action selection in mice. Real‐time Ca2+ imaging reveals robust astrocytic activation during predator odor and CO2 exposure. Aberrant astrocytic Ca2+ overactivation disrupts goal‐directed escape, biases behavior toward freezing, and induces ...

The study of ℤpℤp[u, v]-additive cyclic codes and their application in obtaining Optimal and MDSS codes

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica
Let S = ℤp[u, v]/〈u2, v2, uv − uv〉 be a semi-local ring, where p is a prime number. In the present article, we determine the generating sets of S and use them to construct the structures of ℤpS-additive cyclic and constacyclic codes.

Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.
