LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Maximum Likelihood Estimation of Functionals of Discrete Distributions

open access: yes, 2017
We consider the problem of estimating functionals of discrete distributions, and focus on tight nonasymptotic analysis of the worst case squared error risk of widely used estimators.

Asymptotic results for maximum likelihood estimators in joint analysis of repeated measurements and survival time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Maximum likelihood estimation has been extensively used in the joint analysis of repeated measurements and survival time. However, there is a lack of theoretical justification of the asymptotic properties for the maximum likelihood estimators. This paper

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Semidefinite Programming for Approximate Maximum Likelihood Sinusoidal Parameter Estimation

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2009
We study the convex optimization approach for parameter estimation of several sinusoidal models, namely, single complex/real tone, multiple complex sinusoids, and single two-dimensional complex tone, in the presence of additive Gaussian noise.

BlinkML: Efficient Maximum Likelihood Estimation with Probabilistic Guarantees

open access: yes, 2018
The rising volume of datasets has made training machine learning (ML) models a major computational cost in the enterprise. Given the iterative nature of model and parameter tuning, many analysts use a small sample of their entire data during their ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Maximum likelihood estimation in the non-ergodic fractional Vasicek model

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2019
We investigate the fractional Vasicek model described by the stochastic differential equation $d{X_{t}}=(\alpha -\beta {X_{t}})\hspace{0.1667em}dt+\gamma \hspace{0.1667em}d{B_{t}^{H}}$, ${X_{0}}={x_{0}}$, driven by the fractional Brownian motion ${B^{H}}$

High Dynamic GPS Tracking Loop Based on Fast Maximum Likelihood Estimation [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2016
In high dynamic environment, the Global Positioning System(GPS) software receiver has low tracking accuracy and is prone to loss of lock.To solve these problems,a high accuracy and fast tracking method based on Maximum Likelihood Estimation(MLE) is ...
