Predicting changes in maximum temperatures in the mid-future period in Sistan and Baluchestan under SSP scenarios [PDF]

open access: yesمطالعات جغرافیایی مناطق خشک
Aim: Climate change, as a critical global issue, is primarily driven by human activities. This study aims to project changes in the mean maximum temperature across six meteorological stations in Sistan and Baluchestan province: Iranshahr, Chabahar ...

Reduction of the Mass of the Proto-Quark Star during Cooling

open access: yesParticles, 2021
The integral parameters (mass, radius) of hot proto-quark stars that are formed in supernova explosion are studied. We use the MIT bag model to determine the pressure of up-down and strage quark matter at finite temperature and in the regime where ...

Evaluation of daily maximum and minimum 2-m temperatures as simulated with the Regional Climate Model COSMO-CLM over Africa

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2013
The representation of the diurnal 2-m temperature cycle is challenging because of the many processes involved, particularly land-atmosphere interactions. This study examines the ability of the regional climate model COSMO-CLM (version 4.8) to capture the

Forecasting the Daily Maximal and Minimal Temperatures from Radiosonde Measurements Using Neural Networks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This study investigates the potential of direct prediction of daily extremes of temperature at 2 m from a vertical profile measurement using neural networks (NNs). The analysis is based on 3800 daily profiles measured in the period 2004–2019.

Thermal Performance and Geometric Optimization of Fractal T-Shaped Highly-Conductive Material for Cooling of a Rectangular Chip

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2022
To improve the thermal performance of inserted highly-conductive material (HCM) for the cooling of a chip, the present work numerically investigates the effects of various geometric and structural parameters of a fractal T-shaped branched HCM on the ...

Maximum, Minimum, and Current Temperature Protocol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The purpose of this activity is to measure air (and optionally soil) temperature within one hour of solar noon and the maximum and minimum air temperatures for the previous 24 hours. Intended outcomes are that students will learn to read minimum, maximum,

Anomalous microwave conductivity coherence peak in c-axis MgB2 thin film [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The temperature dependence of the real part of the microwave complex conductivity at 17.9 GHz obtained from surface impedance measurements of two c-axis oriented MgB2 thin films reveals a pronounced maximum at a temperature around 0.6 times the critical ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
