90Sr And 137Cs Activity in Surface Soil Samples from Some Areas Affected by the “mayak” Plutonium Production Association

2001
This paper contains the results from measurements of 90Sr and 137Cs in samples of surface soil collected in 1998 beyond the Eastern Ural Radioactive Trace (EURT) in the northern part of Chelyabinsk region. The sampling sites were the same as for moss samples collected to study the deposition of heavy metals in this part of Ural [1].

[Risk of cerebrovascular disease incidence in the cohort of Mayak production association workers first employed during 1948-1958].

Radiatsionnaia biologiia, radioecologiia, 2012
Incidence of cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) has been studied in a cohort of 12210 workers first employed at one of the main plants (reactors, radiochemical or plutonium) of the Mayak nuclear facility during 1948-1958 and followed up to the end of 2000. Information on external gamma doses is available for virtually all (99.9%) of these workers; the mean
