Appraising Policies Through Social Multi‐Criteria Evaluation: Lessons From a Systematic Review of Applications

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In response to renewed interest in analytical tools that address complex policy problems and move beyond linear‐rational approaches in policy appraisal, Social Multi‐Criteria Evaluation (SMCE) integrates participatory approaches with multi‐criteria analysis (MCA), thereby incorporating specialised knowledge and diverse social values and ...

Complaints Involving Sonographers: What Three Decades of Cases From A Public New Zealand Database Can Teach Us

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
Health consumer complaints to the New Zealand Health and Disability Commissioner involving sonographers are rare, totalling 15 in the last 31 years and averaging 1.5 cases per year over the last decade. A large proportion of complaints involve an undetected finding, obstetric examination and private setting.

Development of multiplex cross displacement amplification combined with lateral flow biosensor assay for detection of virulent shigella sonnei

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2022
Shigella sonnei is the most common Shigella spp. in developed areas and the second most common in undeveloped regions. In this study, a multiple cross displacement amplification (MCDA) assay was used in combination with a lateral flow biosensor (LFB ...

Economic approaches to measuring labor exploitation in agriculture: A systematic literature review of indicators and methodologies

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Agriculture remains highly vulnerable to labor exploitation, affecting almost two million workers worldwide and drawing increasing attention, particularly within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 8 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. However, the informal nature of exploitation and fragmented data complicate its analysis.

Integrating Machine Learning and StoDyM for Check Dam Site Selection on the Loess Plateau, China

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Severe soil erosion in the Loess Plateau has led to significant land degradation, threatening agricultural productivity and ecosystem stability. Check dams, as a critical soil–water conservation measure, have proven effective in mitigating sediment loss and reclaiming farmland.

Harnessing Spatial and Multi‐Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to Optimize Land Suitability for Kenaf Cultivation in Kelantan: Pathways for Sustainable Economic Development

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Kelantan, entrenched land degradation and extensive idling of agricultural lands exacerbate rural poverty. Current top‐down planning often overlooks local geographic and social constraints, despite state initiatives to convert idle lands and strengthen rural livelihoods.
