Nerve growth factor is sufficient to cause multiple osteoarthritis‐relevant pathological features in naïve murine knee joints

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Nerve growth factor (NGF), a key mediator of pain, is increased in osteoarthritic (OA) joints. Antibodies against NGF show analgesic effects in painful knee OA, but clinical development was stopped due to side‐effects in the joints. Knowledge about the biological effects of NGF on joint tissues is limited.

Synergetic Combination of Carbon Xerogels, Graphene Oxide and nano‐ZnO for Aqueous and Organic Supercapacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
This work proposes the synthesis of carbon‐based nanostructured materials obtained using ZnO as both nanos‐ template and catalysts simultaneously. During the synthesis, GO was used as a stabiliser, preventing the collapse of the 3D structure and improving its properties in terms of capacitance and surface area.

ImS-MCTS: A New Importance Sampling MCTS Algorithm for Discrete Event System

open access: yes
With the emergence of a discrete event system (DES), the research community is developing in the direction of various issues within it. In this kind of system, the decision-making problem is one of the core issues. In this paper, we build a new decision-making algorithm ImS-MCTS based on Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS).

Nicotinamide Reverses the Warburg Effect in CHO Cell Culture

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The Warburg effect, the preferential conversion of glucose‐derived pyruvat to lactate despite available oxygen, is a key feature of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell culture. Lactate accumulation in recombinant protein‐producing cell culture is an inefficient usage of glucose, as well as being deleterious to cells.
