Growth Performance, Plasma Fatty Acids, Villous Height and Crypt Depth of Preweaning Piglets Fed with Medium Chain Triacylglycerol [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2013
A study was conducted to investigate the effects of feeding medium chain triacylglycerol (MCT) on growth performance, plasma fatty acids, villus height and crypt depth in preweaning piglets. A total of 150 new born piglets were randomly assigned into one

Glass transitions and scaling laws within an alternative mode-coupling theory

open access: yes, 2015
Idealized glass transitions are discussed within a novel mode-coupling theory (TMCT) proposed by Tokuyama(Physica A 395,31(2014)). This is done in order to identify common grounds with and differences to the conventional mode-coupling theory (MCT). It is

Bridging the Gap Between the Mode Coupling and the Random First Order Transition Theories of Structural Relaxation in Liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A unified treatment of structural relaxation in a deeply supercooled glassy liquid is developed which extends the existing mode coupling theory (MCT) by incorporating the effects of activated events by using the concepts from the random first order ...

Synchronizing the Osteochondral Regeneration Process through Spatial Patterning of Stable and Hypertrophic Cartilage Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Zonated osteochondral assembloid implants are engineered through scaffold‐free spatial assembly of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)‐derived chondrocyte organoids and periosteum‐derived osteogenic organoids. Implanted into full‐thickness rat osteochondral defects, they promote hyaline‐like cartilage repair, support subchondral bone formation with ...

Efflux-Mediated Resistance in Enterobacteriaceae: Recent Advances and Ongoing Challenges to Inhibit Bacterial Efflux Pumps

open access: yesAntibiotics
Efflux is one of the key mechanisms used by Gram-negative bacteria to reduce internal antibiotic concentrations. These active transport systems recognize and expel a wide range of toxic molecules, including antibiotics, thereby contributing to reduced ...

Long-wavelength fluctuations lead to a model of the glass crossover

open access: yes, 2014
The effect of long wavelength fluctuations on the Mode-Coupling-Theory (MCT) dynamical singularity at $T_c$ in the $\beta$ regime is studied by means of the standard field-theoretical procedure for a genuine second-order phase transition.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

The oncogene Mct-1 promotes progression of hepatocellular carcinoma via enhancement of Yap-mediated cell proliferation

open access: yesCell Death Discovery, 2021
Malignant T-cell-amplified sequence 1 (Mct-1) has been reported as an oncogene in multiple malignant diseases. However, the function of Mct-1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor progression have not been ...
