Simultaneous Enhancement of Performance and Stability in Dual‐Gate a‐IGZO Thin‐Film Transistors via Single‐Step Laser Annealing for Capacitor‐Less DRAM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐step laser annealing strategy is presented for dual‐gate a‐IGZO TFTs. The steep thermal gradient induces graded oxygen doping in the channel and simultaneous WOx removal at the contacts, enabling concurrent interface and contact engineering.

Chapter 04: Responsibilities at MD Anderson, the Limits of Leadership Roles, and Working with Other Leaders at MD Anderson

open access: yes, 2004
Dr. Cox talks about his decision to come to MD Anderson, his position as Vice President for Patient Care and Physician-in-Chief, and why that “title was a great title and it was a bad job, for me.” He also discusses being glad to return to being a ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Running Simple MD Simulations

open access: yes
Scientific software can be confusing, particularly when you're doing something that the software isn't primarily intended for. I often find myself wanting to run quick-and-dirty molecular dynamics simulations on small organic molecules, but I've struggled to find an easy way to do this using open-source tools.

Chapter: 09 MD Anderson Presidents

open access: yes, 2013
Dr. Bodey begins this chapter on the MD Anderson presidents by recalling the late Dr. R. Lee Clark was “like a general” and a very wise man. He recalls Dr. Charles LeMaistre was a “Fine Christian gentleman” who projected a good image for the institution.

Atom Probe Tomography as an Emerging Tool for Understanding Defect‑Driven Mechanisms in HfO2‑Based Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective highlights atom probe tomography as a powerful tool for understanding the atomic‐scale defect chemistry in HfO2‐based ferroelectrics. 3D mapping of dopants, point defects, and interface chemistry can provide new insight into defect‐driven mechanisms underpinning the ferroelectricity in the system and guide the design of more reliable ...

In Vitro and In Silico Profiling of Phenolics in Pentaclethra Macrophylla Leaf Extract on Key Proteins Linked to Erectile Dysfunction

open access: yesActa Medica Bulgarica
Erectile dysfunction (ED) which is the inability to maintain an erection during sexual activity, is one of the most prevalent sexual dysfunctions, with mild to severe ED affecting an estimated 5-20% of men globally and about 322 million men may be ...

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed
