Sertraline Treatment Can Mimic Niemann‐Pick Type C Biomarker Profile: A Diagnostic Pitfall

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oxysterols (cholestane‐3β,5α,6β‐triol and 7‐ketocholesterol) and N‐palmitoyl‐O‐phosphocholineserine (PPCS) are sensitive biomarkers for Niemann‐Pick disease type C (NPC) screening. However, false‐positive results occur, with a biomarker profile suggestive of NPC despite the absence of pathogenic variants in genes involved in NPC or ...

Spatial and Volumetric Characteristics of Glioblastoma: Associations With Clinical Presentation and Survival

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective We aim to comprehensively analyze how regional tumor and edema characteristics are associated with clinical presentations and survival outcomes in a large cohort of glioblastoma patients. Methods Patients with IDH‐wildtype glioblastoma who received brain MRI from 2010 to 2023 were included.

Fast Computation of MD-DCT-IV/MD-DST-IV by MD-DWT or MD-DCT-II

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2003
The authors reveal relationships between the type-IV multidimensional discrete cosine transform (MD-DCT-IV) and the type-II multidimensional discrete cosine transform (MD-DCT-II) or the multidimensional discrete W-transform (MD-DWT). Based on the relationships, two new fast algorithms for MD-DCT-IV are proposed.

Cytokines and MDS

2001
Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are considered to be stem cell disorders. A number of cytogenetic abnormalities have been demonstrated in these patients. In the last decade it has become apparent that besides the cytogenetic and molecular abnormalities at the individual cell level, the global alterations of the bone marrow (BM) microenvironment brought

Daddy MD

Pediatrics, 1991
It's been almost two years since the weekend my daughter couldn't breathe. It started Thursday evening with a runny nose and low-grade fever, not unlike the times she's had colds before. Even when she developed the barking cough, which heralded the onset of the croup, we weren't concerned.

Abstract Abstract 4863 THE SECONDARY TRANSFORMATION OF MDS INTO MYELOFIBROSIS IS INDEPENDENT OF THE JAK2 MUTATION Introduction The exact significance of the JAK2 V617F mutation in MDS is unclear. It has previously been suggested that MF could be associated with MDS as one

MDS Arrangements and MDS Descriptors

2004
In this chapter we shall introduce two formalizations of the MDS structure of genes, viz., MDS arrangements and MDS descriptors. MDS arrangements result from representing each elementary or composite MDS by its own symbol, and then by representing the MDS structure of a micronuclear or an intermediate gene by the string of symbols corresponding to the ...

Almost MDS Codes

Designs, Codes and Cryptography, 1996
A linear \([n,k,d]\) code \(C\) over the finite field \(F_q\) is called almost maximum distance separable (AMDS for short) if its Singleton defect \(s(C) = n-k+1-d\) is one. A set of \(n\) points in the projective space \(PG(r,q)\) over \(F_q\) of dimension \(r\) is called \(n\)-track if every \(r\) of the points are not contained in a subspace of ...
