Isolation and Characterization of Marek's Disease Virus (MDV) cDNAs Mapping to theBamHI-I2,BamHI-Q2, andBamHI-L Fragments of the MDV Genome from Lymphoblastoid Cells Transformed and Persistently Infected with MDV

open access: yesVirology, 1995
We have isolated and sequenced two cDNAs of sizes 2674 and 677 bp from a cDNA library derived from MKT-1, a lymphoblastoid cell line transformed and latently infected with Marek's disease virus (MDV) using probes corresponding to the right-hand end of the BamHI-I2 fragment of the MDV genome.

The effect of Tea Misletoe (Scurrula oortiana) Stem Extract as Immuno-Modulator on Oncogenic Marek’s Disease Virus Infection

open access: yesAnimal Production: Indonesian Journal of Animal Production, 2007
Marek’s disease virus (MDV) is one of oncogenic herpesvirus. It causes immunosupresion and cancer in chicken. Several plants produce bioactive compounds which are very useful for treatment of many disease, especially hiperproliveration and virus ...

Immunopotentiating effect of lentinan on chicks and its inhibitory effect on Marek's disease virus infection

open access: yesPoultry Science
: Marek's disease virus (MDV) is a significant tumorigenic virus that causes severe immunosuppression in chickens. Lentinan (LNT) is an immunomodulator containing β-glucans and is widely used in areas such as antiviral, anticancer, and immune regulation.

Role of the multiple telomeric repeat arrays in integration, persistence, and efficacy of the commercial CVI988 vaccine

open access: yesmSphere
Marek’s disease virus (MDV) is a highly oncogenic alphaherpesvirus that causes fatal T cell lymphomas in chickens. Oncogenic MDV strains can integrate their genome into the host telomeres of latently infected and tumor cells.

Comparision of Polymerase Chain Reaction and Agar Gel Immunodiffusion test in Detection of MarekAND#8217;s Disease Virus [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2010
A study was undertaken to identify Marek’s disease virus (MDV) antigen by PCR and AGID and to test the significance of PCR and AGID by McNemar’s test in detection of MDV antigen in outbreak in layer flocks. A total of twelve different
