Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Assessing sectoral convergence and influencing mechanisms of carbon intensity in China: Insights from quantile regression analysis

open access: yesEnvironmental and Sustainability Indicators
Understanding carbon intensity convergence is essential for formulating sector-specific mitigation strategies under China's carbon neutrality goals. This study applies a suite of quantile regression models to analyze convergence patterns and underlying ...

On the convergence of means

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1991
This note is the latest generalization of \textit{L. Hoehn} and \textit{I. Niven}'s [Math. Mag. 58, 151-156 (1985; Zbl 0601.26011)] theorem that if M is the arithmetic, geometric, harmonic, or quadratic mean, then (for positive \(x_ k)\) the limit of \(M(x_ 1+t,...,x_ n+t)-t\) is the arithmetic mean of \(\{x_ k\}\).

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

Quadratically converging rational mean iterations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1991
Several examples of mean iterations (mixing algorithms of means: \(a_{n+1}=M_ 1(a_ n,b_ n),\) \(b_{n+1}=M_ 2(a_ n,b_ n);\) \(n=0,1,2,...;\) in addition to the usual properties of means, also homogeneity \(M_ k(\lambda x,\lambda y)=\lambda M_ k(x,y),\quad k=1,2,\) is supposed) with quadratic convergence \((| a_{n+1}- b_{n+1}| =0(| a_ n-b_ n|^ 2))\) are ...

Packaging of Macroscopic Material Payloads: Needs, Challenges, Concepts, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review introduces a unified framework that decomposes any macroscopic packaging system into the payload, packaging material, and packaging strategy and combines them into a conceptual packaging equation: packaging strategy = payload + packaging material.

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
