Conditional mean residual life estimation [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the problem of nonparametric mean residual life (MRL) function estimation in presence of covariates. We propose a contrast that provides estimators of the bivariate conditional MRL function, when minimized over different collections of linear finite dimensional function spaces.

LOWER CONFIDENCE LIMIT OF THE MEAN RESIDUAL OPERATING LIFE OF NON-RESTORABLE ITEMS
Background. In practical problems of estimating the mean residual operating life of non-restorable items, the amount of observed items is very limited.

Two Nonparametric Estimators of the Mean Residual Life
The mean residual life function L(t) can be written based on the vitality function V (t). In this article we propose two methods to estimate V (t). The two methods are based on both the kernel density estimation and the empirical function.

Relative stochastic comparisons of additive frailty models
This article is devoted to the proposal of two relative stochastic orders namely the relative hazard rate and relative mean residual life orders. These stochastic orders are applied to provide some stochastic comparisons between two additive frailty ...

Reliability Aspects of Proportional Mean Residual Life Model Using Quantile Functions
In the present work we propose a study of the proportional mean residual life model using quantile functions instead of distribution functions employed in the traditional approach. Through various quantile-based reliability concepts ageing properties of

A New Discrete Analog of the Continuous Lindley Distribution, with Reliability Applications
In this paper, we propose and study a new probability mass function by creating a natural discrete analog to the continuous Lindley distribution as a mixture of geometric and negative binomial distributions.

We introduce here a new distribution called the power-modified Kies-exponential (PMKE) distribution and derive some of its mathematical properties. Its hazard function can be bathtub-shaped, increasing, or decreasing.
