Asymptotic Performance Analysis of Maximum Likelihood Algorithm for Direction-of-Arrival Estimation: Explicit Expression of Estimation Error and Mean Square Error

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper proposes a new method to get explicit expressions of some quantities associated with performance analysis of the maximum likelihood DOA algorithm in the presence of an additive Gaussian noise on the antenna elements.

Hessian and concavity of mutual information, differential entropy, and entropy power in linear vector Gaussian channels

open access: yes, 2009
Within the framework of linear vector Gaussian channels with arbitrary signaling, closed-form expressions for the Jacobian of the minimum mean square error and Fisher information matrices with respect to arbitrary parameters of the system are calculated ...

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Mean-square error bounds for reduced-error linear state estimators [PDF]

open access: yes
The mean-square error of reduced-order linear state estimators for continuous-time linear systems is investigated. Lower and upper bounds on the minimal mean-square error are presented.

Sparse Vector Recovery: Bernoulli-Gaussian Message Passing

open access: yes, 2017
Low-cost message passing (MP) algorithm has been recognized as a promising technique for sparse vector recovery. However, the existing MP algorithms either focus on mean square error (MSE) of the value recovery while ignoring the sparsity requirement, or

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

Error propagation approach for estimating root mean square error of the reference evapotranspiration when estimated with alternative data

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering, 2019
Estimation of reference evapotranspiration (ET0) with the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) Penman-Monteith model requires temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and wind speed data.

Transceiver design for non-regenerative MIMO relay systems with decision feedback detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we consider the design of zero forcing (ZF) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) transceivers for non-regenerative multiple input multiple output (MIMO) relay networks.

Spinal Cord Infarction Versus Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis: Clinical, Radiological, and Functional Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

Two Nonparametric Estimators of the Mean Residual Life

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2013
The mean residual life function L(t) can be written based on the vitality function V (t). In this article we propose two methods to estimate V (t). The two methods are based on both the kernel density estimation and the empirical function.
