On mutual information, likelihood-ratios and estimation error for the additive Gaussian channel
This paper considers the model of an arbitrary distributed signal x observed through an added independent white Gaussian noise w, y=x+w. New relations between the minimal mean square error of the non-causal estimator and the likelihood ratio between y ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Root Mean Square Error of Neural Spike Train Sequence Matching with Optogenetics
Optogenetics is an emerging field of neuroscience where neurons are genetically modified to express light-sensitive receptors that enable external control over when the neurons fire.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Perceptual Fidelity Aware Mean Squared Error [PDF]
How to measure the perceptual quality of natural images is an important problem in low level vision. It is known that the Mean Squared Error (MSE) is not an effective index to describe the perceptual fidelity of images. Numerous perceptual fidelity indices have been developed, while the representatives include the Structural SIMilarity (SSIM) index and

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Bootstrapping the Mean Integrated Squared Error
Let \(X_ 1,\dots,X_ n\) be a sequence of i.i.d. real random variables from an unknown density \(f\). For a given kernel \(K\) and a bandwidth \(h>0\), denote with \(f_ h\) the associated Parzen-Rosenblatt estimator of \(f\). There exists a huge literature on how to choose \(h\) in an optimal way.
