On causal extrapolation of sequences with applications to forecasting

open access: yes, 2018
The paper suggests a method of extrapolation of notion of one-sided semi-infinite sequences representing traces of two-sided band-limited sequences; this features ensure uniqueness of this extrapolation and possibility to use this for forecasting.

Distributed Space-Time Coding Based on Adjustable Code Matrices for Cooperative MIMO Relaying Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An adaptive distributed space-time coding (DSTC) scheme is proposed for two-hop cooperative MIMO networks. Linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) receive filters and adjustable code matrices are considered subject to a power constraint with an amplify ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

The minimality of mean square error in chirp approximation using fractional fourier series and fractional fourier transform

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
AbstractChirps are familiar in nature, have a built-in resistance to noise and interference, and are connected to a wide range of highly oscillatory processes. Detecting chirp oscillating patterns by traditional Fourier series is challenging because the chirp frequencies constantly change over time.

Hybrid beamforming for single carrier mmWave MIMO systems

open access: yes, 2019
Hybrid analog and digital beamforming (HBF) has been recognized as an attractive technique offering a tradeoff between hardware implementation limitation and system performance for future broadband millimeter wave (mmWave) communications.

Modélisation pluie-débit et classification hydroclimatique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
La recherche de similarité hydrologique est très importante pour l’estimation des débits aux bassins non jaugés. L’indice radiatif d’aridité, proposé dans le modèle de bilan hydrique de Budyko, en combinaison avec le bilan radiatif, représente un ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Directly Coupled Observers for Quantum Harmonic Oscillators with Discounted Mean Square Cost Functionals and Penalized Back-action

open access: yes, 2016
This paper is concerned with quantum harmonic oscillators consisting of a quantum plant and a directly coupled coherent quantum observer. We employ discounted quadratic performance criteria in the form of exponentially weighted time averages of second ...

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.
