Agricultural Cultivation Cost Prediction Using Neural Networks and Feature Importance Analysis

open access: yesJurnal RESTI (Rekayasa Sistem dan Teknologi Informasi)
Agriculture is one of the most important sectors integral to human civilization, and technological adaptation is necessary to maintain its quality. This research aims to achieve high productivity in the agricultural sector by using neural networks or ...

PRAKIRAAN CURAH HUJAN KECAMATAN KAIRATU KABUPATEN SERAM BAGIAN BARAT DENGAN MODEL AUTOREGRESIVE INTEGRATED MOVING AVERAGE (ARIMA)

open access: yesBarekeng, 2007
Forecasting is an activity to use the past data as the basic to predict the future event that will occur. The result from the prediction is an un-sure event or just a guess, but with some certain methods then the prediction will be more than a guess, it ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Bootstrap for estimating the mean squared error of the spatial EBLUP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This work assumes that the small area quantities of interest follow a Fay-Herriot model with spatially correlated random area effects. Under this model, parametric and nonparametric bootstrap procedures are proposed for estimating the mean squared ...

Genetic Algorithm Assisted Error Probability Optimisation for Beamforming

open access: yes, 2004
A novel Genetic Algorithm (GA) assisted direct error probability optimisation technique is proposed for adaptive beamforming, which reduces the achievable error probability by nearly two orders of magnitude at a signal-to-noise ratio of 10dB in the ...

Ratio Estimators in Simple Random Sampling Using Information on Auxiliary Attribute [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Some ratio estimators for estimating the population mean of the variable under study, which make use of information regarding the population proportion possessing certain attribute, are proposed.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Comparisons of the Performances of Estimators of a Bounded Normal Mean Under Squared-Error Loss

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2009
This paper is concerned with the estimation under squared-error loss of a normal mean θ based on X ∼ N (θ, 1) when |θ| ≤ m for a known m > 0. Nine estimators are compared, namely the maximum likelihood estimator (mle), three dominators of the mle ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
