Functions with a Unique Mean Value and Amenability [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1994
It is shown that there exist many amenable locally compact groups for which the sets of functions with unique left invariant mean values are not closed under addition. This resolves negatively a problem raised by T. Miao.

Triple mean values of Witten L-functions [PDF]

open access: yesMonatshefte für Mathematik, 2015
Mean values of Witten $L$-functions in the "character" aspect are investigated. After giving a general formula for mean values with the first and the second power, we explicitly calculate the cubic moment for $SU(2)$.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Morpho-physiological and ionic trait-based multi-index integrative salt tolerance assessment of rice genotypes from Pokkali and pan-Indian saline ecologies

open access: yesEnvironmental and Experimental Botany
Salinity stress imposes severe limitations on rice productivity, necessitating a mechanistic dissection of tolerance traits for robust identification of elite donors.

Mean‐values of the Riemann zeta‐function [PDF]

open access: yesMathematika, 1995
It has been conjectured that an asymptotic formula of the form \[ I_k (T)= \int_T^{2T} |\zeta (1/2+ it)|^{2k} dt\sim C_k T(\log T)^{k^2} \] holds for any fixed \(k>0\), though it is not clear what the value of the constant \(C_k\) should be. However, a result like this is known for \(k=1\) and 2 only. The author gives an unconditional lower bound for \(

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Analysis of incorporating modified Weibull model fault detection rate function into software reliability modeling

open access: yesHeliyon
When software systems are introduced, they are typically deployed in field environments similar to those used during development and testing. However, these systems may also be used in various other locations with different environmental conditions ...

Addendum to Alternative analysis generated by a differential equation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2004
This addendum concerns the paper of the above title found in EJQTDE No. 2 (2003 ). On page 3, before (2.2), instead of "Applying the mean value theorem" it should read "By simple calculations".
