Mean Value Theorem and Its Uses

Highlights in Science Engineering and Technology, 2023
The foundation of all mathematical analysis is calculus. The mean value theorem of differential equations and the mean value theorem of integral equations are crucial concepts in calculus. They establish the framework for the entire calculus.

Some variants of Cauchy's mean value theorem

, 2020
In this note, some variants of Cauchy's mean value theorem are proved. The main tools to prove these results are some elementary auxiliary functions.

The Mean Value Theorem

2014
The main focus of this chapter is the Mean Value Theorem and some of its applications. This is the big theorem in the world of differentiable functions. Many important results in calculus (and well beyond!) follow from the Mean Value Theorem. We also look at an interesting and useful generalization, due to Cauchy.

Some variants of the integral mean value theorem

, 2020
This note deals with some variants of the integral mean value theorem. Mainly a variant of Sahoo's theorem and a variant of Wayment's theorem were proved. Our approach is rather elementary and does not use advanced techniques from analysis.

The Vinogradov Mean Value Theorem (after Wooley, and Bourgain, Demeter and Guth)

Astérisque, 2017
This is the expository essay that accompanies my Bourbaki Seminar on 17 June 2017 on the landmark proof of the Vinogradov Mean Value Theorem, and the two approaches developed in the work of Wooley and of Bourgain, Demeter and Guth.
