Compatibility and phenotypic variability of guava accessions grafted on BRS Guaraçá rootstock: vegetative and fruit production traits

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical, 2022
One of the main problems faced by guava production is the decline caused by the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne enterolobii), which has a wide distribution in Brazil.

The effect of some soil conditioners and moisture deficiency on the weighted mean diameter and growth of maize (Zea mays L.) cultivated in desert soils.

open access: yesUniversity of Thi-Qar Journal of agricultural research, 2023
The experiment was conducted at the Tomato Development Research Station, located in Al-Zubayr district, Basra Governorate, with a sandy loam texture, during the autumn season of August 21, 2022. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of soil conditioners (zeolite at 2% and perlite at 1%, 2%, and 3%) with or without organic matter mixing,

What Can Determine the Length of an Open Nonendoscopic Thyroidectomy Incision?

open access: yesThe Surgery Journal, 2016
Objectives Surgeons are now utilizing small incisions when performing thyroidectomy. This study evaluated the association between patient weight, nodule size, and maximum thyroid diameter and the length of an open thyroidectomy incision ...

Phosphorus and Microbial Degradation Mediate Vegetation-Induced Macroaggregate Dynamics on the Loess Plateau, China

open access: yesAgronomy
Vegetation restoration enhances soil erosion resistance by enhancing soil aggregates, but the function of these aggregates and their relationship with soil nutrients and microbes remain unclear.

Effects of corn particle size and physical form of the diet on the gastrointestinal structures of broiler chickens

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science, 2003
The objective of this experiment was to investigate the effects of different particle sizes, expressed as Geometric Mean Diameter (GMD) of corn (0.336mm, 0.585mm, 0.856mm and 1.12mm) of mash and pelleted broiler chicken diets on the weight of the gizzard,

Effects of long-term (70 years) nitrogen fertilization and liming on carbon storage in water-stable aggregates of a semi-arid grassland soil

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Grasslands cover up to 40.5% of the world's landmass and store 30% terrestrial carbon (C). Various practices, including mineral fertilization and liming, are used to manage these ecosystems with potential long-term effects on the size and distribution of

Effect of Tillage Depth and Lateral Distance of Shallow Plows on the Mean Weight Diameter and the Energy of Soil Fragmentation by Using Locally Manufactured Subsoiler Plow

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2022
Abstract The field experiments were carried out in Basrah province, to study the effect of the distance between the shallow plows (0.40, 0.50, 0.60m), and adding wings on the foot of the subsoiler plow, at tillage depth (0.30, 0.40, 0.50, 0.60m) on the Mean Weight Diameter (MWD) and equivalent energy of the soil fragmentation in clay ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Soil wetting effects on fallow and cropland in three different soil types of the Czech Republic

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2016
This paper brings the comparison of characteristic changes of cropland and of land that has been left fallow for ten years. The disruption of soil structure (MWD) was tested and correlated with basic soil parameters (soil texture, soil hydraulic ...
