Hierarchical nested simulation approach in reservoir architecture modeling

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2013
A hierarchal nested reservoir architecture simulation methodology is proposed to meet the current challenges in reservoir heterogeneity modeling. It matches the architecture geological research principle which is shortened as “hierarchical constraint ...

Miocene to Quaternary Tectonostratigraphic Evolution of the Northern Section of the Burdur‐Fethiye Shear Zone, South‐Western Türkiye

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.

Meandering Process and Migration Architecture: Based on the Nowitna River

open access: yes, 2017
The meandering process has always been the topic through years and still remains a lot of unsolved mysteries. One of the most important focus is the migration architectures and models that the meandering channels follow.

Phenomenology of meandering of a straight river

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
In this study, at first, we analyse the linear stability of a straight river. We find that the natural perturbation modes maintain an equilibrium state by confining themselves to a threshold wavenumber band.

Towards Water, Food and Energy Security: The Global Challenges and Possible Solutions for a Holistic Vision of Sustainability

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This invited paper gives an overview of the challenges the world is facing and offers a possible solution for water and food security within the holistic integrated concept of the water–energy–food (WEF) nexus. The paper summarizes the experience the author gained through working on various research projects at national and international ...

Multiobjective Simulation–Optimization of Crop Allocation and Water Resources in Canal Command Areas Using Genetic Algorithms

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study develops an integrated simulation–optimization framework for sustainable crop allocation and water resource management in the Bargarh Canal Command (BCC), eastern India. Efficient irrigation allocation remains a critical challenge due to competing demands, groundwater–surface water interactions and environmental constraints ...

Study on Modern Sedimentary Characteristics and Sand-Body Distribution Regularities of Weihe Basin

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Fluvial sand bodies represent one of the most significant reservoir types in hydrocarbon exploration. Restricted by climatic conditions, sedimentary environments and the properties of provenance parent rocks, sedimentary characteristics and sand-body ...

Climatic Drivers of the Area Burned by Winter Wildfires in Northern Italy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This study investigates winter wildfires occurring between November and April in northern Italy over the period 2008–2022. By integrating high‐resolution burned‐area data with gridded climatic indices derived from 150 weather stations, it identifies spatial and temporal wildfire patterns, highlights the most fire‐prone mountain areas through pixel ...

A Zonal‐Meridional Projection Method for Quantifying Global Land‐Ocean Moisture Transport

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
We present a physically consistent and computationally efficient method to quantify global coastal moisture transport by projecting vertically integrated moisture flux onto signed land–ocean boundary segments. The signed projection naturally distinguishes ocean‐to‐land inflow and land‐to‐ocean outflow without explicit directional classification ...

A lattice model of the meandering river.

open access: yes, 1995
We present a lattice model of a meandering river on an alluvial plane which is motivated by the physical non-linear dynamics of the river channel migration.
