Targeting Vaccine Information Framing to Recipients' Education: A Randomized Trial

open access: yesHealth Economics, Volume 34, Issue 12, Page 2317-2337, December 2025.
ABSTRACT We study the effect of framing informational campaigns scientifically or emotionally on the vaccination uptake of recipients with different educational backgrounds. 7616 Swedish mothers stratified by education received a leaflet on their children's upcoming HPV vaccination opportunity. The leaflet's framing was randomized between emotional and

Successful Treatment of Refractory IgA‐Mediated Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia With Bortezomib

open access: yeseJHaem, Volume 6, Issue 6, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction IgA‐mediated autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a rare condition associated with severe hemolysis and limited therapeutic response. Bortezomib, a proteasome inhibitor, targets plasma cells responsible for autoantibody production.

Clinical progress note: Varicella Zoster

open access: yesJournal of Hospital Medicine, Volume 20, Issue 12, Page 1348-1350, December 2025.
Abstract Varicella Zoster virus (VZV) is the etiologic agent responsible for varicella and herpes zoster (shingles). Nonimmune children and adults acutely infected with VZV typically experience a vesicular and pruritic rash that progresses from the face and trunk and generalizes to the extremities, accompanied by an oral enanthem along with symptoms of

Systematic Review of Postvaccination Ocular Adverse Events: A Comprehensive Analysis of Published Reports

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 97, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Ocular adverse events following COVID‐19 vaccination are well described; however, systematic analyses of non‐COVID antiviral vaccines remain limited. This review aimed to evaluate ocular complications associated with non‐COVID antiviral immunizations, including influenza, varicella‐zoster (VZV), human papillomavirus (HPV), and hepatitis B (HBV)

Rapid Detection of Measles Virus Using Reverse Transcriptase/Recombinase Polymerase Amplification Coupled with CRISPR/Cas12a and a Lateral Flow Detection: A Proof-of-Concept Study

open access: yesDiagnostics
The measles virus is highly contagious, and efforts to simplify its diagnosis are essential. A reverse transcriptase/recombinase polymerase amplification assay coupled with CRISPR/Cas12a and an immunochromatographic lateral flow detection (RT-RPA-CRISPR ...

Resolving Heterophile Antibody Interference in Viral Serology Using Blocking Tubes

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.
In this study, we examined heterophile antibody interference in viral serology and evaluated the effectiveness of blocking tubes. Heterophile antibodies markedly increased false‐positive EBV VCA IgM results, leading to apparent active infection; pretreatment with blocking tubes resolved much of this interference.
