Existence of positive solutions for singular impulsive differential equations with integral boundary conditions on an infinite interval in Banach spaces

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2011
In this paper, the Mönch fixed point theorem is used to investigate the existence of positive solutions for the second-order boundary value problem with integral boundary conditions of nonlinear impulsive differential equations on an infinite interval in

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

q-integral equations of fractional orders

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
The aim of this paper is to study the existence of solutions for a class of q-integral equations of fractional orders. The techniques in this work are based on the measure of non-compactness argument and a generalized version of Darbo's theorem.

Trasporto ottimale su varietà non compatte [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the optimal transportation problem on non-compact manifolds. We yield existence and uniqueness of a unique transport map in the case of cost functions induced by a $C^2$-Lagrangian, provided that the source measure vanishes on sets with ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Existence results for some integro-differential equations with state-dependent nonlocal conditions in Fréchet Spaces

open access: yesNonautonomous Dynamical Systems, 2020
In this work, we present existence of mild solutions for partial integro-differential equations with state-dependent nonlocal local conditions. We assume that the linear part has a resolvent operator in the sense given by Grimmer.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Ergodic properties of randomly coloured point sets

open access: yes, 2012
We provide a framework for studying randomly coloured point sets in a locally compact, second-countable space on which a metrisable unimodular group acts continuously and properly.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
