A transistorized radon measuring equipment
Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1966An apparatus is described for the simultaneous measurement of three samples of radon at activities ranging from 5 × 10-14 to 3 × 10-8 curie. The method used is electrostatic collection of the radon decay products followed by alpha scintillation counting.

Measuring Methods and Measuring Equipment
1963During the first ten years of development up to about 1930 the standards used for assessing the quality of a power line carrier communi?cation circuit were essentially of a subjective nature. Objective measure?ments were exceptional cases. A frequency meter of the variety used in radio transmission systems was relied upon to adjust the oscillators as ...

A self-contained equipment (with exception of batteries), of portable design, for measurement of apparent capacity, apparent resistance and natural frequency of antenna-ground systems, within specified limits, is described. A substitution method is employed, adjustment of the calibrated phantom antenna being made to maintain constant frequency and ...

The wide variety of technical problems encountered in telephone relay design calls for quantitative measurements of many kinds, involving static performance and dynamic performance. The present article describes some of the more important measuring tools for this purpose, as used in Bell Telephone Laboratories.

Due to the large amount of work that has been undertaken in the fields of radar and communication engineering, particular emphasis has been laid upon the design and utilization of measuring instruments for the 10-cm and 3-cm bands that are suitable for field and factory as well as laboratory use.

The ionizing-radiation detectors described in the previous chapter do not generally give an output signal which is observable as such. The detectors based on the electrometer principle form an exception to this rule. In this case, one or both of the conducting strips can be used as a needle passing over a graduated scale, so that the amount of incident
