Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Testing Measurement Invariance for a Second-Order Factor. A Cross-National Test of the Alienation Scale

open access: yesMethoden, Daten, Analysen, 2018
Multiple group confirmatory factor analysis has become the most common technique for assessing measurement invariance. However, higher-order factor modeling is less frequently discussed in this context.

On determining which quantum measurement performs better for state estimation

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce an operational and statistically meaningful measure, the quantum tomographic transfer function, that possesses important physical invariance properties for judging whether a given informationally complete quantum measurement performs better ...

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Nonexistence of invariant measures [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1983
Let G G be a group acting on a set X X . Suppose that for some positive integer r r , G G contains a free group F F of rank > r > r and the intersection of any stabilizer with F F has rank ⩽

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

Measurement invariance of the strength of motivation for medical school: a multi-group confirmatory factor analysis

open access: yesBMC Medical Education, 2017
Background The Strength of Motivation for Medical School-Revised (SMMS-R) questionnaire measures students’ motivation for studying medicine. It includes three subscales: ‘willingness to sacrifice’, ‘readiness to start’, and ‘persistence’.

Impact of Not Fully Addressing Cross-Classified Multilevel Structure in Testing Measurement Invariance: A Monte Carlo Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2016
In educational settings, researchers are likely to encounter multilevel data with cross-classified structure. However, due to the lack of familiarity and limitations of statistical software for cross-classified modeling, most researchers adopt less ...

Direct Synthesis of High‐Valence Protein@UiO‐66 Composites: Linking Crystallization Pathways to Protein Encapsulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports a direct, biocompatible method to synthesize UiO‐66, enabling one‐step encapsulation of proteins without compromising crystallinity or activity. Using advanced in situ and ex situ techniques, the study reveals that proteins integrate concurrently with MOF growth, forming crystalline protein@UiO‐66 nanoparticles, and provide insight ...
