Minimum 'energy' approximations of invariant measures for nonsingular transformations
We study variational methods for rigorous approximation of invariant densities for a nonsingular map $T$ on a Borel measure space. The general method takes the form of a convergent sequence of optimization problems on $L^p$, $1 \leq p < \infty$ with a convex objective and finite moment constraints.

In social sciences, researchers often compare relations between constructs, referred to as “structural relations”, across a large number of groups. This paper proposes Mixture Multigroup Bayesian SEM (MixMG-BSEM), a novel method for comparing structural ...

Who Cares about Axiomatization? Representation, Invariance, and Formal Ontologies [PDF]
The philosophy of science of Patrick Suppes is centered on two important notions that are part of the title of his recent book (Suppes 2002): Representation and Invariance.

Search for conformal invariance in compressible two-dimensional turbulence
We present a search for conformal invariance in vorticity isolines of two-dimensional compressible turbulence. The vorticity is measured by tracking the motion of particles that float at the surface of a turbulent tank of water.

Direct T-violation measurements and T-odd effects in decay experiments [PDF]
Motivated by the recent experimental announcements for direct measurements of time-reversal non-invariance in the neutral kaon system, we make a comparative discussion of the CPLEAR and KTeV measurements. The most suitable way to consistently incorporate

Qubit Teleportation and Transfer across Antiferromagnetic Spin Chains
We explore the capability of spin-1/2 chains to act as quantum channels for both teleportation and transfer of qubits. Exploiting the emergence of long-distance entanglement in low-dimensional systems [Phys. Rev. Lett.

High Order Numerical Approximation of the Invariant Measure of Ergodic SDEs
We introduce new sufficient conditions for a numerical method to approximate with high order of accuracy the invariant measure of an ergodic system of stochastic differential equations, independently of the weak order of accuracy of the method. We then present a systematic procedure based on the framework of modified differential equations for the ...

Model independent properties of two-photon exchange in elastic electron proton scattering
We derive from first principles, as the C-invariance of the electromagnetic interaction and the crossing symmetry, the general properties of two-photon exchange in electron-proton elastic scattering.

Breaking the scale invariance of the primordial power spectrum in Horava-Lifshitz Cosmology
We study the spectral tilt of primordial perturbations in Horava-Lifshitz cosmology. The uniform approximation, which is a generalization of the familiar Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) method, is employed to compute the spectral index both numerically ...

An Approximation of the Invariant Measure for the Stochastic Navier-Stokes [PDF]
Kolmogorov’s statistical theory of turbulence is based on the existence of the invariant measure of the Navier-Stokes flow. Recently the existence of the invariant measure was established in the three-dimensional case [2]. It was established for uni-directional flow in [1] and for rivers in [3].
