Determining the dimensionality and gender invariance of the MACE work-to-family enrichment scale using bifactor and approximate invariance tests

open access: yesSA Journal of Industrial Psychology, 2021
larification. Research purpose: The main aim of our study was to get clarity on the dimensionality of the MACE-W2FE. The secondary aim was to test for approximate invariance of the measure for gender groups.

Tori Approximation of Families of Diagonally Invariant Measures

open access: yesGeometric and Functional Analysis, 2023
We approximate any portion of any orbit of the full diagonal group $A$ in the space of unimodular lattices in $\RR^n$ using a fixed proportion of a compact $A$-orbit. Using those approximations for the appropriate sequence of orbits, we prove the existence of non-ergodic measures which are also weak limits of compactly supported $A$-invariant measures.

An Elementary Approach to Rigorous Approximation of Invariant Measures [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems, 2014
We describe a framework in which is possible to develop and implement algorithms for the approximation of invariant measures of dynamical systems with a given bound on the error of the approximation. Our approach is based on a general statement on the approximation of fixed points for operators between normed vector spaces, allowing an explicit ...

Revisiting the Middleton Alienation Scale: In Search of a Cross-Culturally Valid Instrument

open access: yesSurvey Research Methods, 2020
The article contributes to the issue how to deal with measurement non-variance. I address a well-established scale by Middleton (1963) which was created to measure alienation.

Measurement Invariance: Testing for It and Explaining Why It is Absent

open access: yesSurvey Research Methods, 2020
There has been a significant increase in cross-national and longitudinal data production in social science research in recent decades. Before drawing substantive conclusions based on cross-national and longitudinal survey data, researchers need to ...

Invariant measures for solvable groups and Diophantine approximation [PDF]

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Mathematics, 2017
We show that if $\mathcal{L}$ is a line in the plane containing a badly approximable vector, then almost every point in $\mathcal{L}$ does not admit an improvement in Dirichlet's theorem. Our proof relies on a measure classification result for certain measures invariant under a non-abelian two dimensional group on the homogeneous space $\mathrm{SL}_3 ...

An examination of factorial invariance of the Asthma Control Questionnaire among adults with severe asthma.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
BackgroundThe Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ) is used to assess asthma symptom control. The relationship between the questionnaire items and symptom control has not been fully studied in severe asthmatic patients, and its validity for making ...

Detecting and Explaining Missing Comparability in Cross-National Studies: The Case of Citizen Evaluation of Patriotism

open access: yesSurvey Research Methods, 2023
Measurement invariance tests are an important precondition to analyze cross-national data. However, the traditional approach of multigroup confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) has been criticized as too strict and more liberal approaches, such as ...
