Investigating the Relative Impact of Different Sources of Measurement Non-Equivalence in Comparative Surveys

open access: yesSurvey Research Methods, 2020
Different factors are known to affect the comparability of multinational, multicultural and multiregional (‘3MC’) survey data. These include factors relevant to the design of the questionnaire in different contexts (such as cultural differences in how a

Invariant measures of the pair: state, approximate filtering process [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 1991
The paper contains a proof and discussion of a theorem related to a problem in discrete time filtering which may be summarized as follows. The state is a Markov process with an initial law \(\nu\). The filter is then also Markov. It is known that, if the state has a unique invariant measure, then, under certain conditions, the filter has in turn a ...

INVARIANT MEASURES OF STOCHASTIC PERTURBATIONS OF DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS USING FOURIER APPROXIMATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2011
We consider dynamical system τ : [0, 1] → [0, 1] and its stochastic perturbations [Formula: see text], N ≥ 1. Using Fourier approximation, we construct a finite dimensional approximation PN to a perturbed Perron–Frobenius operator. Let [Formula: see text] be an invariant density of τ and [Formula: see text] be a fixed point of PN.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

High Order Numerical Approximation of the Invariant Measure of Ergodic SDEs

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2014
We introduce new sufficient conditions for a numerical method to approximate with high order of accuracy the invariant measure of an ergodic system of stochastic differential equations, independently of the weak order of accuracy of the method. We then present a systematic procedure based on the framework of modified differential equations for the ...

Onasemnogene Abeparvovec in Type I Spinal Muscular Atrophy: 24‐Month Follow‐Up From the Italian Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Onasemnogene abeparvovec (OA) is an AAV9‐based gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy type I (SMA I). Real‐world outcomes show increased response variability compared to clinical trials, and follow‐up data beyond 12–18 months are limited.

An Approximation of the Invariant Measure for the Stochastic Navier-Stokes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Kolmogorov’s statistical theory of turbulence is based on the existence of the invariant measure of the Navier-Stokes flow. Recently the existence of the invariant measure was established in the three-dimensional case [2]. It was established for uni-directional flow in [1] and for rivers in [3].

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...
