Measurement modeling technology
IEEE Software, 2003Although rigorous measurement has become a necessity in the software industry, many measurement programs fail to deliver real benefit to software managers. The required data is often missing, invalid, or late. But a properly automated measurement system can deliver timely reports that enable proactive management.

Measurement, Models, and Uncertainty
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2012Against the tradition, which has considered measurement able to produce pure data on physical systems, the unavoidable role played by the modeling activity in measurement is increasingly acknowledged, particularly with respect to the evaluation of measurement uncertainty.

Modelling a Measurement System
1983A case study of disturbances on a high frequency measurement set-up is made. The sources of error are carefully analysed and modelled. A difference in treatment is made between stochastic and frequency dependent systematic errors of the network analyzer, also reflections and missmatches are taken into account.

Issues in Measuring and Modelling Poverty [PDF]
Economists have relied heavily on household incomes or expenditures normalized for differences in household specific prices and demographics in their research and policy advice related to poverty and inequality. Recognizing the conceptual and empirical problems that confound such measures does not mean that they should be ignored.

Measuring and modeling programming experience
Empirical Software Engineering, 2013Programming experience is an important confounding parameter in controlled experiments regarding program comprehension. In literature, ways to measure or control programming experience vary. Often, researchers neglect it or do not specify how they controlled for it.

Measurement Uncertainty in Spatial Models: A Bayesian Dynamic Measurement Model
Political Analysis, 2018According to spatial models of political competition, parties strategically adjust their ideological positions to movements made by rival parties. Spatial econometric techniques have been proposed to empirically model such interdependencies and to closely convert theoretical expectations into statistical models.

Measurement for Economic Models*
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1954Abstract Three chief subjects are considered. (1) How accurate should data be for economic analysis via economic models, particularly input-output models? Preference is expressed for measurement of additional aspects of economic phenomena rather than broadside improvements in generally sound series.

On Measuring the Understandability of Process Models
2010Much efforts are aimed at unveiling the factors that influence a person’s comprehension of a business process model. While various potential factors have been proposed and studied in an experimental setting, little attention is being paid to reliability and validity requirements on measuring a person’s structural understanding of a process model.
