Laboratory Measurement of the Velocity of Light
American Journal of Physics, 1958An experimental method is presented for a reasonably precise, direct measurement of the velocity of light using simple apparatus. The method is based on the result that the Fourier transform of a pair of identical pulses yields a frequency spectrum with zeros which are simply related to the time separation of the pulses.

A Measurement of the Velocity of Light
Nature, 1949IN a letter in Nature, 142, 833 (1938), I described a new method of measuring the velocity of light in which Fizeau's toothed wheel was replaced by a piezo-quartz crystal. When placed in an alternating electric field, this has the property of acting as an intermittent diffraction grating.

A Measurement of the Velocity of Light
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1937A method is described for measuring the velocity of light with a relatively short base line. A Kerr cell modulates a light beam at very high frequencies and a photoelectric cell is used for detection of the modulations. The modulated light beam is divided into two portions by means of a half-silvered mirror and the two parts sent over different optical

Direct Measurement of the Group Velocity of Light
Physical Review A, 1971We propose and demonstrate a method to directly measure with high accuracy the group velocity of light. We make use of the natural fluctuations of light and determine in a correlation experiment the coincidence of fluctuations of light passing through a sample path and a reference path with known delay. It is shown that this coincidence can be detected

Velocity of Light and Measurement of Interplanetary Distances
Science, 1960The combined availability of atomic clocks and of instrumented planetoids traveling in their own solar orbits will offer the possibility of determining their distance from us, and hence interplanetary distances, in terms of the wavelength of the radiation of atomic frequency standards.

IX.—A Measurement of the Velocity of Light
Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Section A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1950SynopsisThe author has already described a new method of measuring the velocity of light, which replaces Fizeau's toothed wheel by a piezo-quartz. This acts as an intermittent diffraction grating, and it interrupts the beam 200 times more rapidly than Fizeau's wheel did.The present paper describes the application of the method to the measurement of the

A possible improvement in the measurement of the ratio of particle velocity to the velocity of light
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1984Abstract The use of scales different from linear ones in time measurements could allow improvements in measurements of β depending on the particular experimental cases. Furthermore this could allow the possibility of measuring β in times compatible with logic.
