In vitro activity of ceftaroline against mecC-positive MRSA isolates

open access: yesJournal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance, 2016
Ceftaroline is a new cephalosporin with activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). A collection of 17 clinical and veterinary mecC-positive MRSA isolates was tested to evaluate the in vitro efficacy of ceftaroline against recently emerged mecC-MRSA isolates.

Antibiotic Use in Livestock: A Driver of Resistance in Africa and the Path to Safer Alternatives

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.
The incorporation of antibiotics into animal feeds is one of the drivers of antibiotic resistance, a global One Health challenge. To reduce the burden of antibiotic resistance, the use of alternative growth promoters and drugs must be promoted, as well as sensitization and implementation of regulations.

Treatment‐Related Adverse Events and Associated Outcomes in Patients With Advanced Urothelial Carcinoma Treated With Enfortumab Vedotin: Analysis of the UNITE Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 19, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Enfortumab vedotin‐ejfv (EV), an antibody–drug conjugate approved for advanced urothelial carcinoma (aUC), has limited real‐world safety data and no validated predictive biomarkers. Retrospective studies suggest higher objective response rates (ORR) among patients developing EV‐related dermatologic toxicities, but survival ...
