Characterization of Psz by Fracture Mechanics

Both deterministic and probabilistic fracture mechanics are applied for PSZ ceramics in bending. Comparison is given between realibility levels achieved with different sensitivities in NDE and fracture mechanics estimates of the critical flaw size. Implications for practical quality assessment are discussed.

Residual stresses within silicon film-substrate systems were determined by measuring the radius of curvature.

The pivotal mechanism is strategyproof (demand revealing) in public decision problems where preferences are quasi-linear. Moreover, no agent has an incentive to “free ride” by withdrawing from the committee and consuming whatever decision is taken by the remaining agents. Strategyproofness plus No Free Ride characterize the pivotal mechanism.
