A Novel Railgun-Based Actuation System for Ultrafast DC Circuit Breakers in EV Fast-Charging Applications

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
This paper presents a novel ultrafast DC circuit breaker concept based on a railgun actuator, designed for ultrafast charging stations operating at 800 V and delivering up to 640 kW. The proposed breaker achieves contact opening speeds exceeding 190 m/s,

Gecko‐Like Multi‐Directional High‐Power Magneto–Mechano–Electric Energy Harvesters for Self‐Powered, Hundred‐Meter‐Scale LoRa Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gecko like multi directional high power magneto mechano electric energy harvester (MME EH) for self powered, hundred meter scale LoRa communication. Inspired by the symmetric and flexible limb motion of geckos, the biomimetic harvester enables coordinated bending twisting responses to weak, low frequency (50/60 Hz) stray magnetic fields from power ...

Tracing the Dynamic Chemical Transformations of Spiro‐OMeTAD in Operating Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mapping of Spiro‐OMeTAD layer's chemistry and electronic properties in PSC: Advanced cluster ion‐beam sputtering depth profile XPS reveals that environmental stressors (light, potential, and moisture) trigger the decomposition of LiTFSI dopants in Spiro‐OMeTAD.

Ultrafast, High‐Capacity Uranium Harvesting From Seawater via a Hierarchically Porous Polymer Electrode

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hierarchically porous AOPIM‐CNT electrode enables uranium harvesting from seawater via adsorption‐promoted electrodeposition. Rapid diffusion and selective adsorption are coupled with electrochemical crystallization and spontaneous detachment, creating a self‐refreshing process that sustains high‐capacity, continuous extraction from ultradilute ...

Finite element joint simulation model applied to fast mechanical switching of controlled resonance combination circuit breakers

open access: yesHigh Voltage
Fast mechanical switches (FMSs) are critical components of DC circuit breakers (DCCBs), which require the switch action time to break to a sufficient distance within 3 ms in the DC line breaking scenario, while ensuring a long service life.
