A cosmological mechanism for stabilizing moduli [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2000
In this paper, we show how the generic coupling of moduli to the kinetic energy of ordinary matter fields results in a cosmological mechanism that influences the evolution and stability of moduli. As an example, we reconsider the problem of stabilizing the dilaton in a non-perturbative potential induced by gaugino condensates.

Breaking the treatment dilemma of Schatzker IV fractures: finite element analysis validates hybrid single-plate with tension screw fixation for synergistic optimization of stability and minimally invasive outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
ObjectiveThe core challenge in treating Schatzker type IV tibial plateau fractures lies in balancing mechanical stability with minimally invasive techniques. Traditional double-plate fixation carries a high risk of soft tissue complications, while single-

Molecular mechanisms of dendrite stability [PDF]

open access: yesNature Reviews Neuroscience, 2013
In the developing brain, dendrite branches and dendritic spines form and turn over dynamically. By contrast, most dendrite arbors and dendritic spines in the adult brain are stable for months, years and possibly even decades. Emerging evidence reveals that dendritic spine and dendrite arbor stability have crucial roles in the correct functioning of the
